Fall Update

Lydia will start school in 2 weeks and she is so excited. We went clothes shopping on Saturday and she picked out what she liked, even a new Disney Princess lunch box! I have decided to let her ride the bus this year. Last year the bus stop was so far away and in the opposite direction of the school, it was easier and just made more sense to drive her to school myself. She begged me last year to ride the bus, but it just made me nervous. This year the bus stop is right around the corner and it will probably save gas, money, and time. Plus I don't have to fight the traffic jam that happens in that parking lot. Darin tells me to "let go" but it is hard she is my first, I am more nervous for her than I ever remember being for myself.

Harrison was able to borrow a Lego Stars Wars computer game from Uncle Kevin and he and Mommy (yes me) have been playing it pretty much every night since I installed it. It is the cutest game! I love that we have something that we can do together. I am not good at playing action figures, but this I can do. It is so fun that I have considered buying more of the Lego games, I know they have a few out. The first day up at our Family Reunion we lost the kids hats and Mom and Dad got them new ones. A few nights ago when we checked on Harrison before we went to bed, he had this blue hat on. Harrison had fallen asleep with the hat on. He has asked to take it everywhere, even church. My little boy is growing up!

Valerie will turn 1 in about a month, I can't believe that it has been a year already. She is so active which makes me scared for her to start walking. I can just see me chasing her up and down the isles during Sacrament. She is already the fastest crawler I have ever seen. I will walk from the family room to the kitchen and turn around and she will be half way to me already. She does have a temper! If you take something from her she will scream, if you tell her no, she will scream. She screams alot, but she does have the cutest laugh and smile and though she does scream and give dirty looks the smiles and the giggles comes out just as much. She loves to cuddle when she gets up from a nap and she has been talking gibberish more and more. She is so funny!

The first of the matching

Mom and Dad bought these dresses for the girls for Christmas, they are still a little too big for them, but I let Lydia pick out her dress every Sunday and this is what she wanted to wear.

Pizza, Games, & Pig Tails

I took the kids to Peter Piper Pizza today for lunch and to meet one of Lydia's little friends from school for a play date. I think it was a success, the kids had fun and I learned to not try that on my own. The kids wanted to go in seperate directions of course so I was glad to have another Mother there to help out. When we got home Harrison crashed on the couch, poor boy was exhausted. I have started taking the kids for a walk in the morning. I get a little exercise and the kids get a lot of their wiggles out so I can get some cleaning done when we return. So the walk this morning and an hour and a half of playing games was just too much for one day.

To change things up, I put Valerie's hair in pig tails last night and everyone was getting a kick out of them so I thought that I would post the picture of today's pig tails for everyone to see. You might be able to see them a little better in the group shot, but the close up is too cute not to post. She had her fill of Peter Piper Pizza, especially since we went during her nap time. She screams very loud when she isn't getting her way, luckily the noise of the games was just as loud.

Start Spreading the News

In case you couldn't hear all the words, here are the lyrics:

Start spreading the news

We're leaving today.

We want to be a part of

First grade, first grade

We've worked very hard

Our teacher is proud.

So open up those doors to

First grade, first grade.

We know our alphabet

And numbers too.

We all can write our names

And tie our shoes!

So when summer's done

And we're finished with play

Our mom's will send us to

First grade, first grade.

If we can make it here

We'll make it anywhere

So here we come

First grade, first grade.

Last day of Kindergarten

Alisha, JJ, Marisa C.,
Lydia, and Ashley

Valerie 10 months old

10 months old today! Although she thinks she is older. Do you like her Pebbles do? Her hair is finally long enough to put in a very tiny pony tail on the top of her head. She is so full of energy, just look at that face, she is always up to something. She thought she was pretty hot stuff on the couch for her photo shoot, and boy was she hamming it up. I got some good shots, but the last picture is what she would do most of the time.

Valerie is exhausting

Valerie is on the go all day long every day, I don't know if it is because I am older or if it is because she is the most active child I have had, but she wears me out! She has also recently found out that she can scream very loud and in a very high pitch. Here is Darin giving her a shoulder ride to keep her out of trouble for a minute.

She did it! She finally beat me to the pantry before I could close the door. Luckily I was prepared for this and all that is on the bottom shelf is paper and plastic goods. Eventhough she couldn't reach any food, she was pretty proud of herself.

Saturday at Mom and Dad's

We usually go out to my parents house about twice a week. Saturday we went out there for lunch and swimming. It is relaxing to go out there for me because I have many pairs of extra hands to help with kids. Well relaxing for a while, until my dad or one of my brothers get the kids screaming. This is my brother Grant taking his turn at entertaining the kids with a computer game. It was funny because he was experiencing the short attention span of an infant, Valerie wanted down then up, then down and up again. Poor Grant gets most of the entertaining job because the kids like to be around him the most since he is the closest to their age. You are a good helper Grant!
