The Candy Man

We call Papa Morris the candy man because he gives the kids whatever they what or in Valerie's case whatever he thinks she wants. This day he thought she wanted a popcicle. It was funny to watch her. She would grab the popcicle and then laugh because it was cold. She was even using her two little teeth to bite off pieces of it into her mouth and then she would spit them out because they were too cold. This was the first of two popcicles Papa gave her.

Just after her bath

Valerie was so happy after her bath, it was the perfect time for a photo shoot.

Memorial Day

Darin had to work in the morning, but he was off by noon so we packed a lunch and went to the park to eat and play. Valerie tried out the swings for the first time.

Cooling off in St. George

We went to St. George for the day where is was still below 100 degrees. Papa and Grandma Pope had come down for the weekend, so we were able to spend the day with them and Kathleen with a few guest appearances by Kevin, Susie, and April. It was still pretty warm in St. George so we decided to play in some water.

Valerie drank all of Papa Pope's water, she would barely let him get a sip in. She drank probably 90% of the water in that glass.

The kids loved playing in the water. Harrison would run from one end to the other of this new little man made river they have in the middle of St. George. Lydia liked to just sit or lay in it.

Valerie got her first tooth last night! and she is getting up on her hands and knees, but when they slide out from under her, she scoots herself backwards and gets frustrated.
Here are some other pictures showing what she has been up to.
She in one smart girl, she knows exactly how to get Mommy's attention. The other day she switched the channel so all we heard was static.

Daddy gave her, her first french fry. She wasn't too impressed. She sucked on it for a little bit and tossed it when she saw a hamburger.

These two already have a tight bond. Lydia can always make Valerie laugh. Lydia is such a great big sister and a huge help to Mommy.

Valerie 7 months old

She is growing so fast, we can't believe she is already 7 months old. Tonight she got up on her hands and knees and rocked, but it was only for a second. It looks like she is going to have dark hair like Harrison, but we do see some curling like Lydia's hair. She has been saying Ba Ba and Ma Ma, not yet knowing what power those words have. I don't think that I have ever seen a baby smile so much, she sure puts on a show for all the other mothers at school. They love her and ask Lydia and Harrison if they can borrow her. Lydia and Harrison say no of course. One of Lydia's little friends even gave Valerie a tiny backpack with Tinkerbell on it. She looks so cute with it on.
